Free Clothing Store

The NLA clothing store is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

You can book an appointment to receive clothing and household items such as towels, rugs and blankets. Each person is allowed to receive 3 clothing items and 2 ‘extras’ when they visit the store.

After two weeks of their appointment families are able to book a following appointment to the store. We follow this schedule in order to give opportunity to all families to access the store equally.

Creative Workshop

We have workshop space available for anyone who wants to do practical activities. All the residents 12 years and older in the camp have access to this space for tailoring, carpentry, design, and creative activities such as drawing, and painting.

If you want to use our sewing machines we recommend that you make an appointment in advance. 

Opening Times:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 10:00-14:00

Tuesday, Thursday: 16:00-18:00

Social Spaces

Every week we host social spaces for people to come together and take part in different activities. On Tuesdays, we have a Men’s Social space and on Thursdays, we have a Women’s Social space.

Activities include football, jewelry making, table tennis, make-up, crafts, and games. Please visit us during our workshop opening times to ask some questions.

Mother and Baby Programme

Every second Friday morning we open our mother and baby store.

New and expectant mothers can find diapers, wet wipes,  bottles, dummies, baby clothing, and other important items for their babies. 

If your baby is under three years old, you can come to the store to register your baby, for baby-store. Please bring your ID and your baby's ID.

English Classes

At NLA you can learn English!

We teach English to adults on different levels, from the basic ABC to Advanced speaking levels.

The English classes are designed to help you learn useful phrases for your daily life and for your asylum procedure. 

Come to the workshop or our store to register your interest and we will let you know what time the classes are and which level you can join.

Community Garden

We have a beautiful community garden. We use this space to grow vegetables and flowers. In the summer we also meet here to play games, learn English, and enjoy food together.

The community garden is always open to you and you are welcome to use it anytime. If you are interested in working in the garden to help us grow plants, please ask in the shop.

Printing Services

At NLA you can make copies of your passport, ID, and other important documents for your asylum process. Just come to the store or the workshop and ask us.

We can copy a maximum of 20 pages at a time and a maximum of 8 colored photos.
