When I first decided to volunteer with Northern Lights Aid (NLA) in Kavala, Greece, I was terrified. I had never travelled abroad on my own before, let alone gone somewhere for a whole month where I knew absolutely nobody.

Looking back, I genuinely couldn’t have picked a better place for my first solo adventure.
