Free Clothing
Store
In the Free Clothing Store, we provide second-hand clothing at no cost in a space designed as a real store. This creates a dignified atmosphere where people can freely choose the items they prefer. Beyond clothing, we also offer hygiene products and household items.
Baby Support Program
Every Friday, NLA runs the Baby Support Program, a Free Store during which we provide diapers and wet wipes, as well as essential items for babies: clothes, bibs and toys. Families can choose the items they need and want. We also support expectant mothers with a prenatal kit containing essential items.
Community
Centre
The Community Centre is a welcoming and inclusive space for both camp residents and members of the local community. Everyone can access this space for computer use, tailoring, language lessons, creative activities, games, relaxing, socialising, using our free library, and everything in between.
Community Garden
To create our community garden, an overgrown field was transformed into a beautiful space for people to interact and connect. With different flowers, fruits, and vegetables growing it provides the perfect venue for our community gatherings. It also hosts our community events, reuniting camp residents and Kavala inhabitants. We aim to create joyful occasions which foster community integration between residents of the camp and the Greek community.
Medical Support Program
Northern Lights Aid supports vulnerable people in accessing healthcare. Through referrals from social and medical services, NLA purchases essential medication for individuals, provides financial assistance for transportation to medical facilities, and facilitates referrals to specialists.
This program was launched in 2024 as an emergency response.
Since then, significant gaps in access to healthcare have persisted for residents of the Perigiali Refugee Camp.
